Modern Approaches to Foreign Language Teaching: Integrating Artificial Intelligence, Digital Technologies, and Communicative Competence in Higher Education
Abstract
The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies into higher-education language programmes has accelerated rapidly since the public release of large language models in late 2022, raising fundamental questions about how communicative competence is taught, mediated, and assessed. Aim. This article critically reviews contemporary approaches to foreign language teaching, focusing on the convergence of AI, digital technologies, and communicative competence in tertiary settings.
